Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis RIM's CEOs Resigns

I do not know whether this news is true or not but according to sources, they have resigned. So another top shot executives resigns after successfully taking their company to top positions. Similar to Jerry Yang they too have executed their plans well but competition killing them. No doubt their services were unique and fresh when they first launched but gradually other companies followed them and created new advanced products. They remain stick to their products and features and did not enhanced them.

In today's business scenario, if you have created something new and fresh, you cannot guarantee its success for long time. You have to continuously look out for enhanced features. An start up can suddenly kill your company anytime. Therefore, in today's competitive world you always have to look out for new and advance features. I am not a management guru but this can be easily seen from the fall of the two great companies i.e. Yahoo and now Research in Motion (RIM).

Yahoo's Founder Jerry Yang Resigns

This is not an post about Yahoo's Jerry Yang resignations but a post about a company who has touched almost every person who has used internet in his life. In late 90s and early 2000, one of the most famous and respected website was Yahoo. There is no day when a user does not log into Yahoo website. Hotmail started the email service but Yahoo took this mail service forward with various features. No doubt Jerry Yang created a idea/product which ruled the heart of many at that time and still ruling to some.

Yahoo mail, Yahoo messenger, Yahoo Finance, etc are the products which still has decent share in the internet services market. Truly the company ruled late 90s and early 2000 era. The name itself is so popular "Yahoo". It was instant hit in India as it touches millions of Indians as Yahoo is a slang in India which means a state of mind when somebody is happy.

I don't know why this company is loosing its share mainly because of competitors but I still use its products and services as they are still unique in their features. Many CEOs has been changed recently failed to take this company forward but I think Yahoo is still having fire inside and what it needs is a proper leadership and some creative thinkers in their management. Jerry Yang has created a idea now its turn of others to enrich the experience in Yahoo products and services.

China's GDP declines

This is the first time after 2008 when recession was at its peak that China's GDP declined sharply. This has stopped the growth engine which from the past few years was not looking to slow down. In the last quarter of 2011, China's GDP fell down to 8.9%. The economy which was consistently growing with double digit GDP (except 2011) recently has now declined sharply. Still 8.9% growth rate is not bad. Countries love to have growth rate of 8.9% but what worries China is the steep decline.

What worries more is JP Morgan forecasting that it will further decline to 7.2% in the current quarter.  Among the world's major economies, Europe is widely forecast to slump into recession this year, Japan to limp along at growth of roughly 1% and the U.S. to be lucky if it reaches 3% growth.
